This is the most fun he has had in months! It is such a relief to see him have the ability to control getting from one place to another by himself without any help. The appreciation of the freedom of movement just went to a whole other level.

For over four months there hasn’t been a thing he could do on his own. The patience he has had to learn is what I admire the most. Just think: if he had an itch he couldn’t scratch it, if he wanted to roll over he couldn’t do it, if he wanted to blow his nose he couldn’t do it, if he wanted to feed himself or drink something he couldn’t do it, if he wanted to sit up he couldn’t do it, if he wanted to change the channel on the TV he couldn’t do it, if he wanted to change his position laying in bed he couldn’t do it, if he wanted to go to the bathroom he couldn’t do it, If he wanted to shower or wash his face he couldn’t do it, if he wanted to send somebody a text message he couldn’t do it, if he wanted to go outside he couldn’t do it…..the list is endless. Just imagine having to rely on someone else for everything and I mean EVERYTHING!

These small improvements in his days are unbelievably huge for him! It not only took time but motivation and persistence to reach these small milestones. Just getting to this point seemed impossible but here he is in a five-speed wheelchair cruising the hallways!!! Makes me smile!!! Having faith has been a game-changer!
