Austin in rehab

Meet Austin

Austin Beltrante is a courageous 14-year-old boy who is passionate about boxing, baseball, and every other sport under the sun. Thanks to his positive attitude, courage, resilience, and determination, the 9th grader from Berwyn continues to teach others by example what a real fighter is.

“Every day is another adventure. It’s a blessing,”

Meet Austin’s Army

Austin’s story is one of strength and faith, and his supporters are known as Austin’s Army. The story of Austin Beltrante’s road to recovery teaches communities throughout the Philadelphia suburbs the meaning of miracles and resilience. Many of Austin’s family, friends, and other community members call him a miracle, saying there’s a reason he is here.

Following Austin’s battles and recovery has provided so many valuable life lessons to everyone around him. We have learned that without failure, there is no progress and the more you fail, the more you can succeed. We believe that if you’re not failing sometimes, it means you’re not trying hard enough. For his army of supporters, ups and downs are just part of fighting; we have learned to welcome challenges and overcome disappointments. Every opportunity to improve is a gift.

The road hasn’t been easy, but it has given us the opportunity to meet so many generous and compassionate people in our local community. At each stage, people have found ways to pick us up – not so much through what has been donated – but through something bigger, a combination of love and support.

Thank you to everyone who joins our fight and helps make Austin’s recovery one of strength, courage, positivity, faith, and belief. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for all who walk this journey with our family.

Stars in our Army

Rob Gronkowski

We welcome the Gronk to Austin’s Army! As a tight end and a reigning Super Bowl Champion. He brings with him endless energy, motivation, work ethic, and his champion status! He is a fine display of fighting until the end and has proven time and time again. The Gronk is a 4x Super Bowl champ, was the 2014 NFL Comeback Player of the year, and a 5x Pro Bowl participant.

Kevin Reilly & Vince Papale

Kevin Reilly hosts Behind The Lines, a sports talk show about the obstacles athletes face on and off the field. Vince Papale is a frequent guest on the show; he’s known for having joined the Philadelphia Eagles at the age of 30 to become the oldest rookie ever in the history of the NFL to have not played football in college.

Brian Dawkins

Our all-time favorite Eagle, he has spent a career leading his defense to one of the best defenses the NFL has ever seen. The energy, leadership, grit, and raw effort he brought to the game make him arguably one of the best free safeties ever. Brian is a great leader both on and off the field. It’s a blessing that someone like him is now a part of Austin’s Army.
